Heidi Schulz is a board-certified physician assistant and Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP). Heidi received her Bachelor of Arts from Drew University, her Bachelors and Masters of Science and Physician Assistant education from Rutgers & The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, one of the top 5 PA programs in the country, graduating suma cum laude.
Heidi has a strong medical foundation in emergency medicine and primary care. After completing her IFMCP training in 2015, Heidi worked and studied with an epigenetic expert in a health optimization practice and solidified her skills in epigenetics, bio-identical hormones, thyroid support, dietary optimization and coaching many on their wellness journey. Improving biomarkers, energy, vitality and overall strength, many also saw new peaks in their personal careers and in focusing on their passions. Heidi was able to apply the principles of functional medicine in an integrative family medicine practice, allowing many regain control over their health as they addressed insulin resistance, weight issues, gut disturbances, allergies, eczema and cardiovascular disease, reporting improvement in their energy, sex drive, emotional well-being and overall happiness.
When not practicing medicine, Heidi enjoys hiking in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina with her dog, Zoe and enjoying all that Asheville has to offer.
